A hero born, murdered, and born again. When a Rookie cop named Denny Colt returns from the beyond as The Spirit, a hero whose mission is to fight against the bad forces from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face who has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this cold hearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.""

Many have said that the plot of the story is incomprehesable and is too hard to understand, however when i watched the film I understood what was happening and what was going on, albeit the plot is quite complicated but not totally confusing. The Hero of the story is The Spirit who is played by Gabriel Macht, I thought that this character was very interesting, and I thought it was entertaining by his slight wit and how he fell in love with every woman he meets.

The Spirit's nemesis is the slighty mad Octopus, played by Samuel L Jackson, this character is also very interesting, he is funny as he has his mad moments, including Nazi scene's which were a surprise and his wickedness is very entertaining.
The film also features many other female characters that play their parts very well too.

The way the film was made and the image editing was very well done, I loved the way that the film was mainly in darkness with the shadows and the darkness being made the most obvious parts of the imagery, and i also thought that the way they had animated The Spirit's tie and shoes was very cool. I know that some people disagree and say that the whole storyline was rubbish and not interesting at all, however the flm managed to hold my attention and got me into the story, I think that this film will be great for seeing with your family or a friend or two but if you are looking for a light hearted film then this is not the right one for you however for fans of the comic it is not a bad version! 8/10

So I went to HMV on the first day of its release and had to get one of their staff to go find it from their stock room. The DVD was £16.99 for the 2 Disc special edition. I first watched the film on my own one night and I had a brilliant time watching this movie.

The Film starts off with Naomi from the first 2 films, still alive, Watari and Light are also still alive. We then see the scene of L writing his own name in the Death Note and showing it to Watari. We also see the scene of Watari's death, and the scene after the death of Kira with the burning of the Death Notes. Then starts the plot of this film, which starts with the extermination of a small vilage in Thailand that is infected with a highly deadly and infectious disease, the American Goverment destroy the village as to prevent the disease from spreading but some-one is using the virus as a weapon. An antidote to the virus is made but is destroyed along with the creator, who is father of a young girl, Maki. Maki and a Survivor of the village (Boy) are sent to Watari's care, but after Watari's death L looks after them and they help L solve the case to Change The World. The story of this film is rather interesting but it does not have the intelligence of a battle of two geniuses like the Death Note films did, but it is a good film and the plot is not that bad at all. I loved the story as we got to see a different side of L but if you are looking for deep intelligent plots with secrecy this is not exactly the film for you, but if you love L and any film he is in you will love this!

Ken'ichi Matsuyama plays L, as he did in the first 2 films, and he plays L with such excellence that L is now his character, I cant imagine anybody else playing him. The character L is a complicated young man, he was raised in an orphanage so has never felt close of loving to anyone except Watari who was like his father so when he is suddenly incharge of two young children, he finds it hard to understand them and feel close to them until the end. Ken'ichi played this role perfectly, as the director of ths film said "As Ken'ichi is in the original cast he knows the character so well that he does what he thinks for the role and I seem like an observer and agree with what he does, this is his character he knows what to do right." As you can probably tell, L is my favourite character of the Death Note Trilogy as i love his Oddness and how he is so smart and his love of sugar. and he really is still excellent in this film, L lovers will not be dissapointed.

The Other Characters in the film play their characters really well, the character Maki[ who was played by Mayuko Fukuda was 14 during filming] played her part excellently and gave a very convincing and well acted performance, also the actor who played BOY/Near did some amazing actor to say he's so young and that he had to speak english even though the actor is Japanese. Misa Amane, Light Yagami and Watari also played Cameo's in the film.
Overall I thought that the plot of the film could have been better but that the characters/actors were amazing,
I would rate this film 8.5/10 =]

 Comments

The Dark Knight

So Today I watched Batman; The Dark Knight with my family.
Jeez, It was Good.

So The film starred Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, his Performance as The Dark Knight was also very good, just what you would expect of a Marvel superhero. He acted greatly in the movie, giving Batman the tough guy instinct we like to see but also the soft side that is ridden with misery and guilt. Christian Bale portrayed both these sides excellently, he has made a brilliant Batman.

The late Heath Ledger played Batman's nemesis The Joker, this charcter is a man of no boundaries or rules as he often says, the character also has gone crazy over the many years and he also tells a different story about the scars on his face to different people, the characcter must have been quite difficult to play as he is a mad man obsessed with seeing the world burn but Heath Ledger puled it off perfectly. He totally out-acted Jack Nicholson and created this new, scary, funny, obessive being that thrilled my screen. It is a deep greivance that Heath Ledger is no longer with us to keep on creating such amazing films but he will always be remembered. Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman also starred in the film, and all played their characters amazingly.

The story of this Batman Film was very good I thought, my parents thought the plot was too comlicated but I understood it, and when you understand the plot of this film you see that it is a very interesting storyline about the battle of two great minds. The plot of the story really captured me and I felt anxious to find out the conclusion and the fates of new characters. This film is great for people who enjoy deep plots featuring amazing acting and also it is a great film to watch as a family due to the thrilling suspense and stunning conclusion. I deeply Reccomend! 9.89/10 [The Joker Needed to be in it a bit more]
